My Airtel App

PC: Airtel App Site
Airtel is one of those providers in India which has earned much reputation for their uninterrupted service since the days mobile phones are surging the Indian markets. When I first started using mobile phones ( my first set being a Nokia), I opted for another provider as per the advice of one of my friends. But, soon, within six months, had to change my mind and, I switched to Airtel. Till now, I’m enjoying their service and seldom I’ve gotten any chance to complain.

Airtel is now one step ahead to introduce their new Airtel App and, I think this new App will surely be able to satisfy the need of the customers. Let’s discuss a few salient features which absolutely fit my requirements and lifestyle.

♥ The first one being recharging the DTH. Someone may think why I’m considering it as one of the prime features, but in my case, it’s of utmost importance. My mom watches TV on a regular basis, some of the serials are a ‘must watch’ for her. It happened a few times that I forgot to recharge the DTH timely and she had missed an episode or two. The result is a tremendous commotion in my home! With this App, I can do it from anywhere and everywhere, peace shall befall my mom. Finally.

♥ Along with the recharge, comes the next feature, Airtel Surprises. This is quite a fun feature as well as a useful one. In this feature, you will get a surprise offer with every recharge. These surprise offers include discounts on various popular shopping sites, deals or attractive offers on food joints, cafes, and multiplexes. This means you are saving with every recharge. As we often visit or shop from these places, the discounts offered will be of real help. This is really an amazing feature.

♥ The last but not the least feature is the Shake to get Offers. With a single shake to  your phone, you will get all the available updates of great offers. Receiving updates and choosing from a range of offers never was so easy. I didn’t get much time to have some research on the currently available offers and, mostly stick to the one that I’m using for months. Going to the shop and asking the dealer about the newer ones seems to be a real tough job. Also, they often misguide the customers. With this Shake feature, I will be able to get updates regularly.

There are also other features which definitely are helpful in one way or the other. Like integrating all the other Airtel numbers of friends and family, tracking the service requests etc. But to me the three I mentioned above will be of real help.

My Airtel App is undoubtedly a big step towards customer satisfaction as it is a simple way to cater all your needs through a single handset.

Ode to Mom, #MyFirstExpert

Mom was my first teacher, ABC and all
She was there to hold me when there was a fall.

Those days at school, a brawl with a friend
I came back crying; how should I mend?
Mom  put forth her helping hands all for me
Cared about my sadness, an expert was she.
The next day, my snack box was full with apple pie
Wonders of her cooking renewed our friendship. Oh! My!
She was my mentor, in every little thing
Her tutelage made the sparkles bling.

Another day, exam was knocking at my door
Tensed and nervous, I slept on the floor.
Evidently I woke up, with a blanket on me
Sleeping by my side on the floor, none other than she.
Waking up, she consoled me and helped to learn
She read aloud every piece for me to discern.
Wrote the answers down to make them easier for me
“Yes Mom, now it’s clear”, I exclaimed in glee!

Drawing the frog for the biology paper, was a difficult job
Peace of mind, calmness of heart- nothing was left to rob.
She came and showed me an easier way with few strokes
A couple of tries and I said, “mom I’ve done it, look how it croaks”.
She was my mentor, a friend, and a guide
She taught me to take the world in my stride.
#MyFirstExpert in all spheres of life
A doting mom to me; to papa, a loving wife.

Yet again, another day as I was playing in the lawn
The cricket ball hit a window, the glass, shattered and gone.
The elderly uncle came out and broke loose all hell
“You’ve to pay for it. I’ll tell your father as well”.
Ashamed and threatened, I returned home with blows
“Father would have killed me if he knows”.
She watched me and knew something was not right
After dinner, she requested me to come up with my plight.

I sobbed and told her the incident of the cricket ball
“You should be more careful next time”, she said and that’s all.
She went and sorted out the matter, everything was fine
She catered my needs, everywhere, always on time.
She often scolded me for the wrongs I made
She taught me to look at life, with a brighter shade
My mom, who always knew better than me
Whatever it was, an expert was she.

She knew my every fear, every wish, and dream
My mom and me, the world’s greatest team.
She preached what she practiced, a lesson was her life
I knew from her, in adversity, the cake became the friend of knife!
Even today, in time of trouble, physical and mental
I find peace and love, just hugging her shawl.
Mom has made me, what I’m today
The debt of gratitude, no son will ever be able to pay.

Kapil Dev, the first superhero of Indian Cricket, showed our cricketing prowess to the world by winning the Prudential Cup in 1983. Indian cricket came into the limelight during his captaincy. I was not even born at that time, but I can well imagine the ecstasy of my countrymen on this victory. Such a person, a living legend, when joins twitter to make people aware of  a specific league which he is promoting, then the expectation and guesses for his Ek Nayi League surely soar high up in the sky.

Now, what this  Ek Nayi League is all about? There are millions of wild guesses! Let me substantiate my views as I can understand by watching the videos of Kapil Dev.

• The thing that Kapilji is saying again and again is, “if you play this league with your heart, you’re going to lose it”. Repeated stress on this point makes me feel that it has something to do with brains. His body language is also an indicator as he is pointing to his head. That means this ‘league’ needs brainpower and one should not play it by instinct or ‘dil se’.

What could be the possible things that need brain and intellect to play with? The first thing that comes to my mind is a Quiz Show or Reality Show that involves the use of knowledge. Probably he is coming up with a show like KBC.

The second line of thought that hits me is, it could be about some investment or insurance policy. Because he is saying about the retirement and, big amount of money. (He mentioned Yuvraj Singh’s contract of 16 lakhs) In case it’s something like that, it surely needs intellect to invest rather than the heart. So, it’s fulfilling this criterion, too.

• There could be totally another thing about this Ek Nayi League.  As Kapil Dev is addressing different sportsperson and, expressing his views about their achievements, it might be possible that it could be a reality-show involving sportspersons from the different arena of sports. Kapilji has mentioned, Sania Mirza expressing his views about her achievements in tennis. So, there is also a possibility that there would be some special role for women to play in the mentioned league. Maybe, these celebrity athletes are going to host the show or participate in it.

But one thing is certain to me, that, whatever it is, there is an involvement of a handsome amount of money. In one of the videos, Kapilji has clearly stated his happiness as Indian cricketers are now incoming in millions.

According to me, investment, retirement, brainpower, and money- are the four pillars of this upcoming #EkNayiLeague, with Kapil Dev playing a key role into it.

We have seen him leading the country, we have seen him as a model for reputed brands, now let’s wait and watch what he has in store for us with his #EkNayiLeague.

Whatever it is, I wish him great success.
